De compras / Shopping ;)

    ¿Os gustaría saber dónde he estado de compras este fin de semana? Os doy una pista:

    Si no habéis estado nunca os recomiendo una visita :) Es una ciudad genial, grande, con millones de cosas interesantes que ver y hacer y sitios chulísimos para ir de compras. Como no podía ser de otra manera, yo me he dedicado a comprar cosas del mundo craft ;)

    I totally recommend a visit to London if you don't know it :) It is a great city, big with millions of interesting things to see and great places to go, also for shopping. Being a craft addict as I am, these are some of the things I bought ;)

   ...washi tape, por si acaso se me acaban los montones que tengo en casa... cosa poco probable ;)

Mi colcha en una exposición / My quilt in an exhibition :)

   Ayer estuve en Erding, que es un pueblecito a las afueras de Múnich, en la exposición de patchwork y mercadillo de telas y demás cosas apetecibles, que hacen allí dos veces al año.

   Yesterday I went to Erding, a little town near Munich, where a Patchwork Market is hold twice a year.

   ¿Sabéis qué? Una de mis colchas estaba expuesta!! ¿Os suena?
 
   And you know what? One of my quilts was displayed at the exhibition!! Do you remember it?

   Fue muy emocionante ver mi colcha ahí colgada entre tantas bellezas. Además, le tengo un cariño especial a esta colcha porque fue la primera que empecé (aunque no fue la primera que terminé... ésa fue ésta otra). Además que está hecha completamente a mano, tanto la unión de las piezas como el acolchado. Fue mucho trabajo pero mereció la pena.

   It was very exciting to see my quilt hanging there with other wonderful quilts. Besides, I love this quilt specially as it was the first one that I started (not the first that I finished, which was this one). It is handpieced and handquilted. It was a lot of work but definitely worth it.

Después di una vuelta por el mercadillo de telas. Era pequeñito, pero tenía cosas interesantes.
 
Then I had a look at the fabric market. It was not very big but there were some interesting things.

Lanas / Yarn

   Ya os conté que este año me había propuesto ponerme a tejer. Hace poco estuve en Madrid y fui a comprar lanas con mi madre. Mirad qué colores tan bonitos compramos:

   I told you already that one of my resolutions this year was to improve my knitting skills. I was in Madrid recently and went with my mother to buy some yarn. Look at these wonderful colors:

   El proyecto que tengo en mente es una manta para el sofá. Sí, ya sé lo que estáis pensando... si no se me da muy bien el punto debería empezar con un proyecto un poco más pequeño... Posiblemente tengáis razón :)

   The project I was thinking is a blanket for the couch. Yes, I know what you are thinking... if I am not so good at knitting, I should start with a smaller project, right? You are probably right  ;)

   ...pero es que desde que ví estas mantas tan preciosas en ThePurlBee, me quedé enamorada y necesito una urgentemente.

   ... but I felt in love with these blankets from ThePurlBee from the very first momento I saw them, and wanted one for me.

Decorando con telas / Decorating with fabric

   Ya sabéis que me encanta decorar con telas. Aquí os ensené cómo había puesto telas en bastidores para decorar la pared. Otra cosa que podemos hacer es poner telas en marcos:

   Do you remember these hoops that I used to decorate the wall? Another thing you can do to decorate with fabrics is to display them with beautiful frames:

 
   Seguro que tenéis por casa restos de tela de algún proyecto que hayáis hecho. Basta con que los pongáis en un marco bonito para decorar vuestro rincón preferido:

   You have for sure some fabrics in your stash. You just need a frame and you can enjoy them on your favorite corner:

      O podéis colgar los marcos de la pared:

      Or just put the frames up on the wall:
 

    Podéis poner telas más infantiles para decorar la habitación de un niño o niña, o utilizar telas de Navidad, telas de una sola paleta de color, telas otoñales, colores más veraniegos...  ¡Como veis las posibilidades son infinitas!

   You can use more childish fabrics for a kid or a baby room, or even use Christmas fabrics, use fabrics of the same color palette, use fabrics with fall colors, summer fabrics... As you see, the possibilities are endless!

   
   ¿Qué os parece? Es una manera muy rápida y barata de dar un toquecito diferente a un rincón de la casa :) Os animo a que lo probéis.
 
   What do you think? Just try it. It is a funny and inexpensive way to decorate :)
