Top Verna terminado -Verna Quilt Top finished

No hace mucho me llegó por correo mi nueva máquina de coser ... ¡¡¡super regalo de mi hermana!!! :)

A few days ago my new sewing machine came with the post. It's a present from my sister!!! :)

Hasta ahora he hecho las colchas a mano (bueno, las dos primeras que hice y que ya conocéis, hechas con las colecciones wonderland y cotton blossoms) pero siempre había querido probar con la máquina de coser. Ahora ya no tengo excusa... y tengo que decir que es una gozada lo rápido que se avanza ;)

Until now I had finished two quilts by hand (you probably know them already: wonderland quilt and cotton blossoms quilt). But I always wanted to give it a try with the sewing machine. Now I don't have any reason not to do it... and I have to say it is a big different how quickly a top can be made ;)

Este es uno de los primeros proyectos que he estado haciendo con la máquina. Ya tengo el top terminado. Las telas son de la colección Verna de Kate Spain (Moda). Me enamoré de ellas en una feria de patchwork que fui a ver como en Marzo, cuando por aquí todavía hacía un frío tremendo. Las telas me parecieron tan primaverales que pensé que tenía que hacer un quilt con ellas para acordarme de la primavera cuando llegue el próximo invierno, que llegará ;)

This is one of the first projects I have been sewing with the new machine. The top is already finished. Fabrics are Verna by Kate Spain for Moda. I felt in love with them at a little quilt market in March, when it was still veeeery cold here. The fabrics were so spring-like that I thought I had to make a quilt with them to remind me of spring ... just in case winter comes again ;)

Las esquinas no me quedan tan bien como cuando las coso a mano, tengo que practicar más.

I have to practice a little bit more. The corners are not so perfect as when I hand-piece them.
